Welcome to the scariest fact behind the terrifying horror story of Hiratsuka Shizuka (平塚 静), the young teacher who sometimes succumbs to the darkening when she attends the wedding ceremony. You are going to meet that too if you click to read more. So don’t click.
Before I will start.
Before you will read this post, I recommend you to read the previous post first since this post is the last part. There I wrote my own personal experience that brought me to the investigation of the ghost story of Hiratsuka-sensei, the true story about her and her best friend. Her destiny connects with other people, also that fact and that future of someone around her. So I will reveal the fact I found behind her horrifying story. I will warn you first this post is about the scary stuff so please consider if you should continue to read or not. But if you decide to enter the dimension of darkness, you can’t forget it anymore, just like me…

…So you want to taste that terror. Fine, I will not hold back to respect your courage. In the first part, I told that I noticed the abnormalities in Hiratsuka-sensei’s ghost story. So I will unlock each notice, I recommend you to prepare LN v4 or/and manga @Comic v5 if you own them.
Here we go!
The 1st Notice – The consistency of surnames
The scary story sensei tells others is about herself and her close friend named Kinoshita Haruka. Despite I read LN v4 many times, I was not interested or even noticed the abnormality in her story even once until the last time, I felt her names are familiar for some reason. Yes, her surname reminds me of a certain family name. It is similar to the surname of those two beauties you would know who, Yukinoshita Yukino (雪ノ下 雪乃) and her older sister, Yukinoshita Haruno (雪ノ下 陽乃). What is the difference is Yu-. This is the first notice I will give to you.
The 2nd Notice – The consistency of the first names
The next notice is the first name of Hiratsuka-sensei’s best friend is similar to “a certain person”. I think you would know who already. The difference between the names of these two women are -ka and -no, the same thing between these two characters is Haru-.
The 3rd Notice – The frequency
The third notice is the storyteller tells her close friend’s names two times and continuously. It is weird to me sensei repeats her best friend’s names like that, I mean she doesn’t need to say her friend name two times frequently. I want to tell you that I suspect WW’s writing at this point because Hiratsuka-sensei tells those names repeatedly and in two speeches. Like this. ⇓
“Let’s call her Kinoshita Haruka. But five years ago, Kinoshita Haruka went missing… all she said to me before she left was, ‘I’ll go on ahead’.”
Of course, she can say them as much as she wants but I still think it is strange anyway. This abnormality is difficult to see it as the abnormality. However, WW doesn’t need to repeat them. He can use some pronouns or other names instead such as “my friend” or “she” for examples but he, the not novice writer, chose to repeat her name despite he wrote her full name already. Eh? That’s why I think repeating names like this is weird to me and weird for the author who knows that he should not use duplicate words too but he seems to “insist” those names unnecessarily except he has some hidden objective. So I check ghost stories of other people, Tobe Kakeru (戸部 翔)‘s and Hikigaya Hachiman (比企谷 八幡)‘s, they look normal to me.
Even in Hachiman’s story, he just says his friend with the surname (I guess that is the family name since they are not close friends) and just one time. Tobe doesn’t mention names of his senpai and senpai’s wife. I mean, a certain author repeats “Kinoshita Haruka” two times frequently as if there is some significance by using this method I mentioned earlier, to attract readers’ attention. Unfortunately, this method took almost 10 years (LN v4 descended to us in 2011) until a hungry bee like me noticed this transparent nectar.
If I have only one abnormality, I would not suspect that much even if I wonder his action. But if you read three notices I wrote above, you would start to wonder that…
Why did WW name Hiratsuka-sensei’s friend which is similar to that certain person?
The 4th Notice – Hachiman’s opinion
Since I began to suspect WW’s objective because of those four notices, I decided to check LN v4 and manga @Comic v5 again. Finally, I found more clue from Hachiman’s conclusion toward the story of Hiratsuka-sensei’s friend.
“That is, gets married, changes the surname, and has a kid…”
Please notice at red words I highlighted, “changes the surname”. At first, I never knew this is one of the abnormalities. I think WW hides this phrase among other words, like hiding book in the library, hiding the leaf in the forest. So we can’t notice its abnormality. You might think “Huh? How is this strange since it is normal for her friend to change her surname if she was not single anymore?”. In my opinion, it is very weird!!
Because his opinion is not consistent with his sensei’s story. I mean, she never tells info that is coherent with the conclusion Hachiman mutters. Sensei never tells that her friend’s surname is her husband’s even once. Her friend left and meets her again with her kid. Of course, her disappearance would be her marriage or even new life but there is no anything in the story that shows me that she changes her family name. Since no parts of her story tell me how that friend’s surname is changed so I think Hachiman’s conclusion about changing surname is very strange to me. Even so, he still mutters like that. That’s why I conclude that the middle words are abnormal for me and they are another clue that WW hides it for some objective instead. The next question is, for what?
Since I believe that WW intends to tell readers about “changing the surname”? If he wants to tell us that he changed surname? I don’t mean WW changed his own surname but “he changed the surname”. So I just look for the surname in Hiratsuka-sensei’s ghost story that it is not difficult to me to search for it because her story is short and she mentioned just one person’s surname, her friend’s surname. My assumption this time is if the surname of her friend is the name WW modified, it means the original surname is “another one” and that surname must be similar with the word, “Kinoshita”.
At this point, I think you would know which family name I am meaning. Yukinoshita is the only surname that is so similar to the family name of sensei’s friend. That’s why the hint from Hachiman’s words is the hint that will prove my own two assumptions in my mind (that I ever mentioned in the first part). Various assumptions pointed at that unbelievable fact that became the supernova in my head. The reason I believe that the hint “changes surname” would be the factor that proves that unbelievable fact that I found about sensei’s friend, is because that hint points at the full name of her friend implicitly that can be the critical point of my analysis this time.
The 1 million yen question (kidding)
Since all of my notices and assumptions that I wrote above, about changing surname that point at a character of Oregairu story, Yukinoshita Haruno, I doubt why WW tried to modify her surname as the surname of sensei’s best friend. Actually, he doesn’t need to name both surname and the first name of that friend like this since Hiratsuka-sensei tells her story only, and she can call only her first name since they are close friends, “Haruka” for example. She doesn’t need to tell others full names of that friend but even so, sensei still tells those full names. Even Tobe and Hachiman don’t specify full names of their acquaintances (for Tobe’s case, he never mention the first name of his senpai).
That’s why I am sure that the names of sensei’s friend must be names that were modified (in case of surname) and concealed (I mean both names, surname and the first name) by the hand of a certain god who likes ramen so much, from that character. You can notice that repeating to call the full name of sensei’s friend is like the action to announce something to us. Of course, you can check in LN v4 to prove my theory. That’s why I jump to prove that unbelievable fact I found.
The 5th notice – Their appearances & personalities
So I return to manga again. If you have this manga, I recommend you to open the page when sensei is telling her story. You will notice that her friend has a similar outer appearance with that certain character, even their hairstyles, and their manners. I mean, Haruka’s manner in @Comic is kinda friendly, smiles although she is tired (having kid would consume her energy, I guess). Her manner is similar to other characters in Oregairu story, include that person.

Of course, you can argue to me that there are other characters who have a similar personality. For example, Haruka’s hair color (in manga @Comic) is similar to Yuigahama Yui (由比ヶ浜 結衣)‘s the most if we compare with the color of screentone only. But there is only one similar thing between Yuigahama and Haruka so its weight is less than the similarity between Haruka and that person.
So I will collect the outer appearances and personality of Kinoshita Haruka and Haruno to compare their similarity only, if someone wants to argue Haruno is not similar with sensei’s friend, I will not agree or I should say, I can’t agree with that because other notices about the full name of sensei’s friend will refute that opinion automatically. Therefore, I feel that if you read my notices at this point, you would notice the similarity between the full names of two characters. So I decided to test their names to test my theory if both of them have a strong connection. ⇓
The Test
I don’t need to test their family names because Hachiman’s opinion, “change the surname”, made me suspect Haruka’s surname that is similar to Haruno’s surname. So I will test their first names because of two questions.
- Why are their first names similar?
- Why did WW name sensei’s friend as “Haruka”?
So in order to find the reason, I decided to test their names at random. I started the test like this.
Haru ka
I didn’t separate “Ha” and “ru” too because Haru is similar to Haruno and I didn’t see why I need to separate for now except I found the reason to do that. So I decided to separate “ka” to find how each word looks like. By separating words, I think “ka” for this case might be the question marker, it is simply the hiragana character 「か」. So I change ka as “?” like this.
Haru か

Haru? or Haru ka?
And if I include the surname of sensei’s friend and write/read as Hiragana characters, not Kanji.
Kinoshita Haru? or Kinoshita Haru か or Kinoshita Haru ka?
And if the full names of sensei’s friend are modified and concealed, I just reverse it by modifying back like this. ⇓
Yukinoshita Haru? or Yukinoshita Haru か or Yukinoshita Haru ka?
Of course, I don’t know how WW thought before he will do something with these names so I don’t know his process but the hint from Hachiman confirms me that changing surname happened. So I will follow this clue that Haruno’s surname was changed while her first name was not. I suspect that WW made her first name was shortened instead but her name was not changed at the same time by using ka(?). You might wonder why WW shortened her name (Haruno -> Haru and follow with “ka”), I think I can answer this question. I suspect that if he just changed her surname only but did nothing to alter her first name, readers would notice this so easily. For example, Kinoshita Haruno.
So he needed to “suppress the truth” with other methods and checked how his work will be, such as shortening her name as “Haru” (exclude “no” from her name). But just this method is not enough because it is easy to notice by readers who have good eyes (Kinoshita Haru) so he needed to season it more while he must maintain the name of this character at the same time too. So he used “ka”. Ka in the Japanese language can be used in various names and “ka” alone is the particle to form questions too.
Therefore, he used Kanji characters to “Kinoshita Haruka” to hide its format from Hiragana to Kanji to suppress the truth in another layer so readers will not notice the similarity between sensei’s friend and sensei’s former student. This barrier can be seen through if you spell her name or see her names as Hiragana.
That’s why I suspect that Kinoshita is the name that was changed from Yukinoshita while Haruka is the name that was concealed with some methods to hide its true meaning. All of these lead to the full name of that person, Yukinoshita Haruno.

…Do you start to feel some hidden power of this result or not?
Come to think of it, the name “Haru” can be used to call Yukinoshita Haruno. At least, there are two people who call her name by excluding “-no” from her first name. Those people are Shiromeguri Meguri (城廻 めぐり) and Isshiki Iroha (一色 いろは), her cute juniors. Meguri calls Haruno as “Haru-san” while Iroha calls her as “Haru-san-senpai”.
Of course, this test is just my random test to reach the most possible answer by following the hint and all notices I found only, in order to find why/how WW modified names. If you have other methods to test their names, please don’t hesitate to share your idea.
However, I still didn’t let you see the supernova I ever witnessed yet.
Now I shall reveal the most frightening fact of Hiratsuka-sensei. Prepare yourself.
In case you didn’t notice the unbelievable fact or supernova or the truth behind these names or the truth behind the horrifying story that Hiratsuka-sensei tells yet, I will not say it directly or you will not feel the power of supernova that I ever experienced. So I will write how to find the hidden truth WW hides it step by step instead. In case you already encounter that fact, welcome to the realm of darkness.
- I recommend you to pretend for now that you believe my theory first (the theory that Kinoshita Haruka -> Yukinoshita Haruno).
- I will tell you first that friend, Haruka is still sensei’s friend, she is not Haruno since you can see Haruno is still single.
- When you believe that full name is modified from Haruno’s names as I suggested, I recommend you to read the ghost story of Hiratsuka-sensei again and you must change the full name of her friend as the full name of Haruno while you are reading her story…

The prophecy of the vicissitude of the inverted world – The divination of Yukinoshita Haruno
This is the unbelievable fact that I ever mentioned in the previous post. This means WW tries to hide this frightening future of Haruno from us since LN v4 but wants to reveal this to us at the same time. Maybe he is too shy to tell us directly? Anyway, after I reached this point, I who was burnt by the energy of supernova, wanted to believe this fact but I couldn’t believe it at the same time so I returned to manga again and I did as I suggested you in 3.).
Do you know how I was feeling while I was reading those two pages? My expression would be like a certain character. We encounter something overwhelming. That Yukinoshita Haruno?, that Haruno?, that Harunon?, that scary Onee-san?, that demon lord will be like her former sensei tells and as Hachiman mutters? Get married and have a kid? (while changing her surname would be possible if she gets married) What? What the? Wt*? I think you too, need some time to endeavor to grasp this impossible fact.
So this is my analysis of how the certain author used the horror-comedy story between sensei and her best friend to hide the future of another friend of sensei. At this point, it would be safe to reveal that the scariest story of Hiratsuka-sensei is the truth about Haruno behind Haruka’s story (you can notice I highlighted these phrases with green color) while the pink phrases that I highlighted in both analyses are about Haruno’s being. If these assumptions are correct, her truth will be like the prediction when the whole world alters by the hand of a certain god who likes ramen so much, sends it down from the sky and crashes our seeles.
And if sensei doesn’t still get married until the certain reunion between both of them happens, this fact of Haruno might be the most frightening story that is waiting for her to encounter… I begin to feel the same with sensei while she is grabbing her arms and shaking. Please imagine when sensei faces “something” behind Haruno’s shoulder… (goosebumps)
Ah… I remember her tone. My expression would be like the girl beside her.
For her, it is the future, for sensei, it is a scary story, and for me, it is supernova.
The last notice – Hiratsuka-sensei’s close friendS
There is another notice that reflects the similarity between Haruka and Haruno, that is both of them are sensei’s close friends.
- In the case of Haruka, sensei tells others that Kinoshita Haruka is her best friend and both of them met again since the last time Haruka left.
- In the case of Haruno, you would remember the scene when she meets her former teacher again after they didn’t meet for a long time (anime ss1 ep8, manga -Monologue- v4). And Haruno calls her with her first name, “Shizuka-chan”. Haruno’s calling makes sensei brush that shows us how sensei is pleased because her former student narrows the gap of their relationship to the closer one.
What I want to show you is [how Hiratsuka-sensei sees both of them as her close friends] and [how Haruka and Haruno met her again]. These two similar characteristics reflect how their 1st (in Oregairu story) meetings and their status are overlapped each other. These notices also are the factors that can filter other female characters who would be her close friend and has similar appearances and personality with her best friend, Haruka the most. Of course, you can tell me sensei never tells Haruno is her close friend but something doesn’t need to be told with direct words.
Then, who will be her child’s *ather?
*Beep* It seems that word is censored for some reason.
Another The 1 million yen question! (kidding) And I can feel how this question is very sensitive. Who will get married to another best friend of Hiratsuka-sensei and have a kid? For me, this is the most frightening question more than that scary fact I found. Of course, that destiny’s person can be anyone but I guess he would be “someone in Oregairu story”. However, it’s too bad I can’t find any clue in the horror story of sensei that can reveal this mysterious person. So you can send your own answer in the comment form below. Your answer might be the key to open this Pandora box. Anyway, I really really hope her kid’s face will not be like that kid’s in manga @Comic. Brrrr!
Lastly, the ghost story of Tobe, Hachiman, and sensei are the true story they heard or tasted. However, all of them are just horror-comedy stories so please continue at your discretion. Personally, I want to believe this theory since all notices and assumption are pointing to that future. However, since that future doesn’t still occur yet so some part within me can’t accept this fact as the truth 100%. However, what I am sure is this unbelievable fact excites me so I am waiting for WW to reveal if this is the truth. But the truth that he was the one who gave me notices are true, only this fact can’t be denied.
Somebody, please marry her already or else she might face that future of Haruno and become Heaven Teacher Shizuka then use Cat’s Hand to her best friend instead.
When will Independence day of sensei arrive? I wish she will wear that dress for real.
Well, although I conclude Haruno’s future via Haruka’s story, it doesn’t mean sensei will meet her carrying her child like that since I have no evidence to confirm its possibility. But I just want to reveal Haruno’s implausible fact to you.

While I was editing this post, 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit Southern California on 4th of July that it is the largest earthquake in 20 years and there is another 5.4 earthquake.
