This character in Fairy Tail (フェアリーテイル) story, is the one I chose for this 3 Days 3 Quotes Challenge (The Last Day).
I didn’t read Fairy Tail manga but saw drawing, I can see that mangaka developed his skill, it’s different, compared to the previous manga, Rave Master (レイヴ). Also, characters in FT are very interesting, and one of them says something that I …am not sure I can do that. And that character is…
Ah, but before you read more than this, I will spoil some detail in anime/manga Fairy Tail, so if you don’t mind that, feel free to continue.

Natsu Dragneel (ナツ・ドラグニル)
The main protagonist of anime/manga Fairy Tail, a mage and the member of the Fairy Tail Guild. He says something I want to believe.
Don’t give up, the beginning is always the hardest, so let’s keep on going till the very end.
To tell you the truth, I doubt he is right. I mean, I don’t think the beginning is the most difficult, but life and path I choose are difficult all the way. Or maybe it’s because I don’t know which part is the beginning. Maybe I reached the middle but where I am walking is still the beginning? I would agree with Natsu if we are talking about training, such as sport or playing music. But to succeed in life and career, we need more than our effort. Connection and luck are necessary.
The competition and hectic lifestyle in today’s society… can be noticed by most people, but old people who are struggling in two or even three generations would feel more clearly than us. I start to wonder when we are old people in the future, our lives will be more difficult than our previous generation or not, even if we tried our best. I think I can predict the future if the world population keeps increasing. For example, an organization wants to employ 30 people for various positions, but there are more than 5,000 candidates. And I don’t include the chosen one, eh… people who have the inner connection yet. So, to return the topic or Natsu’s words, I doubt that endeavor only will be enough.
I am sorry if I wrote something unpleasant, but I think this is the bitter truth that will be much more terrified if we avert our eyes. Maybe it’s because I read novel Inferno (I strongly recommend you to read this if you are interested one of the truths of our world). However, I don’t think Natsu is wrong. The key to success is researching and keep moving. I don’t know which path you choose, but I wish you success.
